Winner's Credits for A/B Flights will be posted at the Kebo Valley pro shop... C/D will be posted at Penobscot Valley.

Because play was called for both flights on Saturday and for half of B-flight on Sunday, players will be given the opportunity to return to either Kebo or Penobscot Valley... under better circumstances! Here's how comp rounds will work for our Bunyan faithful:

· Players who were scheduled to play A/B flight at Penobscot Valley on Saturday will be issued a voucher for 18 holes at the Club, good anytime in 2010. Those vouchers will be mailed to the A/B players in the next 7 to 10 days.

· Players who were scheduled to play C/D flight at Kebo Valley on Saturday have been placed on a list at Kebo, and may return to play 18 holes anytime in June or October. Simply call the pro shop ahead of time and identify yourself. When you arrive to check in, you'll be crossed off the list.

· Players in B-Flight who came to Kebo to play on Sunday but were unable to finish that day because the tournament was called will also be placed on a Pro Shop list and may return to play 18 holes anytime in June or October. Please note that this does not extend to players who withdrew before play was called that day.

SATURDAY'S PLAY CALLED AT BOTH COURSES DUE TO RAIN

Saturday's play at both Kebo Valley and Penobscot Valley for the 2010 Bunyan was called early this morning. The reason: heavy rain at Penobscot Valley and rain with lightning delays at Kebo. Tomorrow's re-pairings are being put together right now-- stay tuned for those pairings to be posted. Players will be playing their Sunday round at whatever course they were originally slated for. A/B flights will be at Kebo, C/D will be at Penobscot Valley.

A FEW REMINDERS

• All players must have a USGA GHIN number to participate. If you don't belong to a Club where you can sign up for GHIN, give us a call at 442-8725-- we can help!
• As always, we will do our best to accommodate pairing requests because of travel arrangements, close-handicap friends playing together, etc. Remember that while we have flexibility to do this on Saturday, Sunday's pairings will be determined by previous day's scores.
• We will issue full refunds for cancellations that were received by the close of business on the deadline day, May 14th. After May 14th, refunds for cancellations will be issued in the form of credit towards next year's Bunyan entry fee. There will be no credit or refund for withdrawls once the tournament has begun on June 5th.
• Pairings will be posted within a week of the tournament or sooner. Watch this page for that information!

GENERAL BUNYAN INFORMATION

The Bunyan, which sees hundreds of golfers from clubs all over New England and the Canadian Maritimes each year, is a gross and net score tournament. The three-man groups are divided into four flights, A-B-C-D, as well as a Senior Flight. This year, A-B flight will finish on Sunday, June 6th at Kebo. Gross and net prizes will be awarded within each flight, with $500 in credit going to the overall gross winner!

Tee times on Day One will be paired by handicap and, where possible, by request. On Day Two, tee-times will be re-paired by score within your flight. Anyone with a USGA (GHIN) handicap may compete. If you do not have a current GHIN handicap, please contact our office for assistance at (207) 442-8725.

Competitive golfers will be pleased to learn that the Maine State Golf Association has decided to once again sanction the event, providing starters, scorers and rules officials on site at Penobscot Valley and Kebo Valley. Live scoring will be available on the MSGA's website.

Each participant will receive a commerative tournament souvenir. Additionally, an 18 hole practice round at either Kebo or Penobscot Valley on Friday, June 5th, will be offered to Bunyan players for just $30!

We're looking forward to seeing YOU at the 2010 Bunyan!

The Lens of Larry Lambrecht

Earlier this month, we brought in golf photographer Larry Lambrecht to shoot Penobscot Valley. Larry has shot courses all over North America and Europe, with a special love for the courses of Ireland. This time, his lens was witnessing the rebirth of Donald Ross-- and his work is superb. Many of the pictures will eventually grace the clubhouse-- for now, enjoy our Slideshow of Highlights from Larry's trip to Maine. The pictures are also posted individually below.
